With our university colleges within the KU Leuven Association we will continue to work consistently towards a unified higher education space that is firmly established as a continuum of programmes. We will be asking for a stronger commitment from our partners to make this a reality. We ensure that the final competences acquired in secondary education are well aligned with the starting competences required in higher education. Where we share campuses, we should evolve towards a true partnership that creates room for a sincere collaboration in education and research and towards a maximally joint approach to student services. Through our School of Education, we strengthen compulsory education and will continue to develop a coherent framework for education and research in the care sector. We are also jointly committed to lifelong learning. At the policy level, we will clarify how advice and themes at the Association level are implemented within KU Leuven and improve the decision-making process within KU Leuven and internal communication.

Thank you very much for the vote of confidence you have placed in me during what has already been an intense campaign. Now we are steaming ahead to the final round of voting! Because if you really want to bring a breath of fresh air to the university, you need to know exactly what is going on, what the needs are and how we can realistically address them. In short, you need to know KU Leuven inside out so that we can move forward together and leave no one behind. That’s why I am keen to continue the dialogue with you, because yes, together, we make KU Leuven.
